COMMUNITY EVENING: MANTRA WITH CECILY CHUN
Join us for an evening of conversation and a chance to come together without "doing" yoga. These sessions focus on elements of yoga that are not movement based.
In this month's session we will learn about the practice of Mantra with Cecily.
Did you know that the mindful repetition of a word or sound is also a type of yoga? Mantra Yoga is, in fact, one of the oldest and ancient forms of Yoga.
In this session we will:
discuss the many purposes for mantra such as healing, meditation, personal growth, and prayer
Learn three ways you can practise and apply mantra, including kirtan (chanting call and response style as a community)
Learn the meanings of some of the mantras such as Om and why we chant shanti, shanti, shanti 3 times
These events are a great way to deepen our understanding of yoga and come together as a group without needing to move our bodies. With a relaxed and interactive vibe, our conversation will centre around yoga philosophy and its relevance to us in 21st century Melbourne with a different focus or theme each time.
