PLAYING BY THE RULES

All schools of spiritual thought offer us guidelines for living with integrity. You can look to the Ten Commandments (Christianity), the Six Perfections (Buddhism) or the Yamas and Niyamas that form the foundation of yogic moral thought.

Living by these ethical guidelines may not always be the easy option in the moment, but if we are playing the long game, they point us in the direction of purpose, ease and joy. Rather than considering these tenets as hard rules to follow, we might consider them as a vision of how harmonious our human existence could be if we all gently tended to our own little corner of the world.

One quote…

There’s only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.

Aldous Huxley

One question…

In your own personal code, what are the non-negotiables?
