THE NORMAL THINKING MIND

Have a think about what your “normal” mind feels like. We are constantly processing obscene amounts of information and in single day we can have up to 60,000 thoughts. No wonder the mind keeps whirring when we take the time to slow down or sit to meditate.

Our thoughts and feelings should be welcomed as part of our meditation practice. Observing the mind can be a powerful an opportunity to become aware where we are getting stuck. Over time we become better at calling ourselves out when we fall into unhelpful mental grooves. We might not always be able to control which thoughts bounce around in our mind but we can decide which thoughts are worth taking seriously.

One quote…

Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits they become your character.

Lao Tzu

One question…

As CEO of your brain, which of your thoughts are projects worth funding with your attention and action?
