STRADDLING THE TENSION

We’ve all been there – straddling the tension – of a moment, conversation or concept where two seemingly contradictory ideas both appear correct.

A paradox is a statement that feels true but seems to say two opposite things. If we can sit with the mind cramp rather than turn away, we have an opportunity to relish in the complexity of life and the idea that understanding some parts of ourselves (and this wild, wild world we live in) demands a capacity beyond intellect and reason.

One quote…

Carl Jung called the paradox one of our most valued spiritual possessions and a great witness to the truth. He wrote, “Only the paradox comes anywhere near to comprehending the fullness of life.” Sometimes beautiful. Sometimes terrible. Always deeply human.”

Brene Brown

One question…

Where (in your life) right now, is a seemingly absurd scenario or outcome, proving itself to be valid?
